Your Knee Support Feels Fine at 9 AM. What About 3 PM?

A regular sleeve gives you one level of hold for the whole ski day. But a cold first run, a steep pitch and a long chairlift ride don’t ask for the same thing. Here’s what adjustable support changes.

A ski day you might recognise

  1. 8:45
The first run feels stiff.Cold legs, cold boots. You take it easier than you’d like and wait for things to loosen up.
  2. 10:30
Your sleeve has slipped down.Under your ski pants it has worked its way down your leg. Fixing it means unzipping layers in the cold, so you leave it.
  3. 12:40
On the chairlift it digs in.Knee bent, fabric bunched behind it, for the whole ride up.
  4. 15:00
By afternoon it feels too tight. So you roll it down. Now it’s comfortable, and it does nothing.
None of this means you’re doing it wrong. It means your support can’t change when your day does.

Why one setting falls short

A regular sleeve gets its hold from the fabric. You choose it once, when you pick the size. Snug enough for the steep runs is too tight on the lift. Comfortable on the lift slips down by mid-morning.

Strap braces add Velcro, but straps are bulky under ski pants and can work loose. Meanwhile, what your knee wants changes through the day:

Cold start Snug

A steady, light hold while legs and boots warm up.

Steeper runs Firmer

More hold when you’re loading the knee turn after turn.

Lift & lunch Easier

Ease off while you sit, so nothing digs in.

The solution

Meet STRYDE ACTIVE

STRYDE ACTIVE is a knee compression sleeve with a dial on the side. Turn it to tighten, click by click. Pull it to release. Snug for the first run, firmer before a steep pitch, easier on the lift, without changing sleeves.

  • Adjust the hold without taking it off
  • Padded ring around the kneecap
  • Low-profile fit under ski pants and ski boot cuffs
  • Black or white, sizes M to XXL

Our recommendation

Our take: if your sleeve never feels quite right, try one you can adjust.

If your sleeve slips down by mid-morning or digs in on the lift, a different size may not solve it. A hold you can change during the day might. Start with one sleeve and try it on at home.

Before you decide

Can I wear it with ski pants and ski boots?

Its low-profile design is intended to fit comfortably under ski pants and around the upper boot-cuff area. Put it on before your base layers. Exact fit depends on your boots, layers and size.

Which size do I need?

Measure your thigh 6 in (15 cm) above the knee and pick the size from the guide: M 15–17 in, L 17–19 in, XL 19–21 in, XXL 21–23 in. Between two sizes? Take the larger one; the dial does the fine-tuning.

Do I order a left or a right knee?

Pick the knee you’ll wear it on. The dial sits on the outside of the knee so it’s easy to reach. Want one on each knee? Take two and the second one is cheaper.

What if it doesn’t fit?

Try it on at home. If it’s not right, send it back unworn within 30 days. Full details are in our Return & Refund policy.

Is this a medical device?

No. It’s a compression sleeve for comfort and support while you’re active. It isn’t meant to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you have an injury or ongoing knee problems, talk to a doctor or physio first.
